Although it is Presidents' Day we would like to acknowledge some of the great women behind the men in office. They played an important role in their husband's administration itself, advocating for specific issues. Each of these first ladies used their position and influence to institute change and looked simply stylish while doing so!
Eleanor Roosevelt
Betty Ford
Jacqueline Kennedy
Lady Bird Johnson
Hillary Clinton

As a proud pekingese owner I was embarrassingly excited to find out a peke named Malachy took home the title of Best In Show at the Westminster Dog Show this week! He is only one of three pekingese that has taken home the grand prize since 1960, it is about time these Ewok-esque little creatures had their day in the spotlight!
Here is Malachy post-win eating off a silver platter at Sardi's…of course he is!
1982's Best In Show Dragonora of Elsdon. Such a big name for a little dog ;)
The 1960 winner Chik T'Sun of Caversham
These special little dogs are one of a kind, support your local shelter or pekingese rescue groups!

Hey all, this is Flora, Corey’s new assistant designer. I have been missing my hometown of Vancouver BC Canada lately so I’ve decided to share with you fellow CLC lovers a piece of fabulous VanCity music culture. In the next few weeks I will be posting about some of my favorite Vancouver bands playing Sold Out shows across Canada but have yet to really break into the States music scene. So, look them up and support them so they can come see us in LA!!
1. The first is my ultimate favorite band to see live. They put on the best live shows ever and spur massive dance parties! No wonder they constantly play sold out shows and are Canada’s most popular at festivals and clubs alike. They’ve won several awards already, most recently “Instrumental Recording of the Year” for their album Anything Is Possible. Not only will these boys rock you off your feet but their entertainment value in terms of costumes and funny dances are through the roof! They are currently recording their fourth album.
As they are described on their website: “Five Alarm Funk is a horn powered, percussion fuelled, sonic and visual assault. For more than six years the band has brought their relentless and unforgettable live show to clubs and major festivals across Canada and the United States.
The band on stage is an unstoppable orgy of energy. Ten musicians perform intricate and airtight arrangements with delirious dance moves and full on headbanging. Choreographed arm movements coincide with melodic climaxes while the four percussionists create a true spectacle.”
