If you read our blog you can tell we love our redheads over here at CLC ( Christina Hendricks, Alison from a Fine Frenzy ) and Deborah Ann Woll is no exception! We have been enamored with her since the moment we started obsessively watching True Blood. It turns out that Deborah is a fan of CLC and was spotted in Corey's " Belinda" dress at the premiere of The Pacific. Loving the way she styled it with a Katy Rodriguez jacket and Louboutin heels!
We recently spent a rainy day with Alison Sudol, leader of the band A Fine Frenzy, which she introduced to the world with the 2007 album ONE CELL IN THE SEA. Alison is not only uber-talented ( if you do not have her latest album, run to buy it right now! ) and utterly charming, she is one of the most sassy and effortlessly stylish gals we have seen in a long time! This is why we asked Alison to pick her top 5 Corey Lynn Calter must haves from the Spring 2010 collection and incorporate them with pieces from her own wardrobe while hanging out at some of her favorite local Silverlake spots including Lark Cake Shop, Lamill Coffee, Ivanhoe Books, Lake Boutique and Vacation Record Store. Check out Alison's choices below!
Alison enjoys a cup of tea and a berry cupcake while wearing CLC's "Sandra" shirt dress at the sweetest spot in Silverlake, Lark Cake Shop.
Lamill Coffee is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a rainy morning. Alison brightens up the place with her raven locks and CLC's "Alicia" gingham romper.
Rainy day kind of feeling: Just add a blazer and perfectly tousled hair for the perfect rainy day ensemble!
Next stop is Ivanhoe Books, possibly the most hidden gem in all of Silverlake. Nestled behind Lawson Fenning, this quaint book shop is packed with an array of limited edition, vintage and just simply rare books.

Browsing the eclectic selection at Ivanhoe Books is the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon. Alison wears CLC's adorable "Kelly" dress.
Singing in the Rain!
Lake Boutique is one of Alison's favorite stores in the neighborhood and it is easy to see why! Not only do they carry designers such as Rag and Bone and Current Elliott, there is a lovely apothecary stocked with hard to find beauty gems such as Arcona, Herve Gambs and Korres.

Last stop of the day is Vacation Vinyl, an old school record store that makes you want to go on ebay and buy a record player immediately!

Check out the adorable actress Cobie Smulders on the cover of the latest issue of Saturday Night Magazine wearing Corey Lynn Calter's " Leanna " peplum dress from the Spring 2010 collection!
Corey invited Style Section LA to take a tour of her Los Feliz home that she shares with her husband Glenn Kaino and daughters Sadie Jane and Stella Rose. Check out the fantastic piece written by Lizzy Epstien and shot by Donato Sardella here!
We just received these beautiful shots of actress Jaimie Alexander from stylist extraordinaire Emilie Pereira and had to share! Jaimie is one of our favorite gals and she looks stunning in CLC's vintage corsets and ostrich feather jacket. For those of you that may not know, Corey had a line of corsets before she started CLC, that is why all of her strapless dresses fit to perfection ladies! The beyond talented Kristin Ess is responsible for the gorgeous hair and Angela Kohler snapped the shots, a dream team for sure!

Melissa Magsaysay, Fashion Market Editor and stylist at Los Angeles Times Image is one of our favorite LA fashion fixtures. Melissa writes trend stories on beauty and fashion, her "Your Stylist" column addresses major trends and gives advice on how to wear even the most intimidating of them. She also conceptualizes, produces and styles the section’s photo shoots. Not only is she drop dead gorgeous, Melissa has a sleek, sophisticated style and always looks perfectly polished. Melissa has been a long time Corey Lynn Calter enthusiast, even dressing her bridesmaids in CLC for her San Francisco wedding! Corey asked Melissa to choose her Holiday 2009 must-haves and show us how she would incorporate them into her fast-paced daily life in Downtown Los Angeles at some of her favorite places including Bottega Louie, Tiara Cafe and Magnolia Downtown. Check out Melissa's choices and why she will be wearing them this Holiday season!
Melissa starting her day at Bottega Louie in CLC's white Dashel blazer
I chose the white tux jacket because it reminded me of Bianca Jagger in her white tuxedo. I love a white tux jacket especially against darker skin and hair. I was trying to channel her as the not quite as glam, daytime version. The jacket instantly dresses up a pair of black tux pants (like the cropped version from Phillip Lim I wore it with) or looks good with dark jeans or leggings.
At Tiara Cafe wearing the Trisha Cowl Neck Dress
The beige/gray glitter dress is tough, but sweet at the same time, which I love. A faded motorcycle style jacket makes it a little more casual. I like any dress that I can throw a little jacket over, so it’s not so fancy and serious, I tend to always have an element of tomboy in anything I wear, so the overall result isn’t too “done”. The neck line of this dress is drapey and hangs off one shoulder, so as the night progresses and the evening carries on bam! That jacket comes off and it’s 100% sexy.
Previewing CLC's Spring 10 collection in the Sydney dress
The black and tan lace print dress is sweet and a little daring. I love the drawstring waist-cause, well, who doesn’t love a drawstring waist? It cinches in so it accentuates the waist line, but you can eat and breathe, both things I like to do. A cropped black blazer makes this dress perfect for daytime. The shoulders are cut out, so it easily transitions to night as something more provocative.
Happy hour at Magnolia Downtown is the perfect way to end the day! Melissa is wearing the Mailia dress
This is the perfect New Year’s Eve party dress or just a nice party dress in general. The taupe shade is understated and unexpected and the embellishment at the chest dresses the whole thing up a lot. I like the flutter sleeve for some extra girliness. It inspires me to make fabulous plans for New Years. I don’t wear a lot of color in general, so the holiday collection suits my style. I like more subtle and understated hues such as black, gray, tan, navy and ivory. All the pieces I wore allowed me to be dressed up, but without traditionally girlie things such as bright color, bows, ruffles ect… .................................
On October 27th Corey hosted a private dinner and debuted her Spring 2010 collection in the form of a short film for 50 of LA's most fashionable Angelenos including Decades owner Cameron Silver, Merle Ginsberg, Rose Apodaca, George Kotsiopolous, Jessica Paster, Magda and Alex Berliner, Hillary Rush, Shiva Rose, Amanda Lutrell Garrigus and Rachael Leigh Cook. The event was held at the Lead Apron gallery tucked away on Melrose Place and owned by Jonathan Brown, who lured guests across the street to his fabulous Lead Apron bookstore at the end of the evening for a night cap.
Pretty in Pink: Corey Lynn Calter and the lovely Rachael Leigh Cook both in CLC
Corey showed an 8 minute film that was a crowd pleaser , with models projected on three walls and asked a question at every stop, their answers were as entertaining as the clothing! After the film, guests filed into a candlelit room where delicious food from Savore catering was waiting.

The readers of both Fashion Week Daily and Racked NY have spoken and it seems that everyone has gone cat crazy for Corey Lynn Calter's Spring 2010 retro kitty print.
As an avid Anthro shopper myself, I love that we get to showcase special CLC designs at one of my favorite stores! We're really excited this month for some new additions to Anthro: cute, cozy pillows that look one of a kind (if I do say so myself!) and a hammered silk top with soft flowers drizzled in chains. And making these finds even sweeter: Anthropologie is offering *free* shipping until December 23. Happy shopping! ~kelly
